God comforts the weeping The wife of Elisha's disciple in the Old Testament. The disciple's wife expressed her grief to her master, Elisha, because her husband had died and the debtors had come to fetch her children. Prophet Elisha asked the disciple's wife, "What do you have?" He said he had a jug of oil in his possession. The Prophet Elisha replied, "Go to the houses in the neighborhood and collect the empty jar and pour oil on it." The disciple's wife collected the cup, and filled it with oil, and sold it, and paid the debt. Dear child of God, you have only a jar of oil in your hand. You shall hand it over to the Lord. The Lord will feed you, as he fed the five loaves to five thousand. Tell God your need and He will nourish you with what is in your hand. You will not be disappointed, for your God is not the one who leaves nothing for you in your house. When what is in your house reaches the hands of the Lord it will be a comfort not only to you but to many.
