Is Divorce Right? It is not right to divorce except for adultery. The Lord says again that you are going to divorce because you have a hard heart. God wants us to forgive the shortcomings of our life partner and lead them to Christ. It is a violation of God's commandment to file for divorce by blaming one of the spouses. The person in whose name the divorce petition is filed is righteous before God. Because divorce is a violation of God's commandments. It is wrong according to the Christian faith for an adversary who wants to live with his life partner to the end but does not forgive his shortcomings and goes for a divorce.
