 Resist sin to the point of death

 A child of God must overcome sin in three ways.  The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life.

 It is carnal desire to enslave a child of God to the thoughts of the flesh.  The lure of sin is lust.  It is the glory of life that makes a child of God proud.

 A child of God must oppose all three of these.  Whether in the Old Testament or in the New Testament, it is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life that cause a devotee to sin.  Gradually leading to a state of retreat.  A child of God must be the one who overcomes lust, lust, and the glory of life.  Joseph overcame these in the Old Testament.  Samson had submitted to these.  Who became the victorious Joseph and became the Prime Minister of Egypt?  Defeated Samson became the slave of the Philistines, and was taken away captive.

 Dear child of God, do you resist or submit to sin to the point of death? How did Samson, who was subject to sin, end up?  How did Joseph, who resisted sin, end up?
