Jesus Christ who is poor because of us 2 Corinthians 8: 9 The great rich Jesus Christ, who created the whole world, became poor on earth to make us rich. When Jesus Christ was born on earth, there was not even a good place to be. Growing up was not in good condition either. Jesus Christ did not even have the money to pay a tribute to Caesar. Jesus Christ became poor to make us rich. In a sense, even the comforts we enjoy today were not available to him then. Besides, Jesus Christ did not even have the wealth of that time. During the three and four days of the preaching of the Word, even food was not available to the Lord. Thus Jesus Christ lived in the midst of suffering. Jesus Christ was just as thirsty and hungry as we are. Dear child of God, Jesus Christ was to set an example for us. If Jesus Christ asked the Father, the Father would give him everything God needs, but the Lord did not accept it and lived just like us. To put it bluntly, living below us was to set an example for us.
